Volunteering in Senegal
Our voluntary journalism placements in Senegal are in the city of St. Louis, four hours North of the capital Dakar. Although it is the most French of all Senegalese cities, it nevertheless offers a fascinating insight into the Senegalese culture and people. Our journalism placements in St Louis are all in radio stations where you will have the opportunity to be actively involved in researching stories, delivering them on air if your French is strong enough, and also learning about the technical side of radio journalism.

Through being involved with the media, you will learn about the social, political and economic aspects of the country, whilst also being able to explore it geographically. You will learn about the technical side of journalism, and if you are in a country whose language you already speak, it is a fantastic way to improve those language skills.
